The "Recycling Hotline" (*Linha da Reciclagem*) marks its fifth anniversary on October 27, having handled over 250,000 inquiries and issues. Established by the EGF Group and its 11 concessionaires, this free, nationwide public service aims to connect citizens with waste management and recycling systems. It provides answers to questions, collects suggestions and complaints, forwards these matters to the relevant entities, and tracks the subsequent responses. Requests for information were the most common type of interaction, accounting for over 100,000 entries, followed by complaints (over 75,000) and service requests (over 50,000). Between 2022 and 2025, the annual volume of contacts and issues rose from 34,635 to 59,532—a 72% increase that reflects both growing usage and the trust users place in the service. Common questions from users include how to dispose of specific types of packaging, how door-to-door selective waste collection works, and whom to contact when a recycling collection point (*ecoponto*) is damaged or malfunctioning. Schools, associations, and businesses can also reach out for information or to request environmental awareness materials.

Valorlis has just launched a photography contest that invites the public and its employees to look at everyday life through the lens of recycling and good environmental practices, promoting creativity, artistic expression, and reflection on the importance of small gestures in preserving natural resources, managing waste, and protecting the environment. Under the motto of photographing daily life through recycling and environmentally responsible behaviors, the contest challenges participants to capture original images that portray actions, habits, or moments related to recycling and preserving natural resources. The initiative aims to bring the community closer to these themes and reinforce the role of each citizen in building a more sustainable future.

Valorlis has once again rewarded the commitment of the school community to recycling through the Ecovalor Program, in the 2025/2026 school year. This environmental education initiative, in its most recent edition, involved 101 educational establishments and more than 28,000 participants from the region, allowing approximately 430 tons of recyclable waste to be sent for recycling, including 168 tons of paper and cardboard, 127 tons of plastic and metal packaging, and 134 tons of glass. These results reflect the growing involvement of schools in promoting more sustainable habits and raising awareness among younger generations about the correct separation of waste. The amounts of waste sent for recycling in this edition allowed for the awarding of more than R$ 12,000 in prizes to participating schools, intended for the acquisition of teaching materials, equipment, or services that contribute to strengthening and improving their educational practices. All schools were awarded prizes based on the amount of waste sent for recycling. Among the participating schools, the following stood out: the Assanha da Paz Kindergarten in Pombal, with 273 kg of waste separated per student; the Magueigia Kindergarten in Leiria, with 269 kg per student; and the Mendiga Kindergarten in Porto de Mós, with 236 kg per student.

Valorlis will install 150 new large-capacity containers (5 m³) by the end of the year in densely populated areas with a higher concentration of food, commerce, and service establishments. This investment, of more than R$ 222,000, was financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and aims to reinforce the quality of the service provided, adapt the infrastructure to the volumes of waste generated in the areas of greatest production, and contribute to a greater recovery of recyclable materials, encouraging the correct separation of waste at the source.

Valorlis has just launched the "Glass by Glass We Make the Impossible" project, an initiative aimed at establishments in the HORECA channel (Hotels, Restaurants and Cafeterias), with the objective of increasing the recycling of glass packaging, promoting good environmental practices and involving local businesses in achieving the region's sustainability goals. As part of Valorlis' investment plan, 100 glass recycling bins equipped with the assisted tipping system (a model that allows the direct unloading of small containers) are being installed in the six municipalities within the company's area of ​​operation (Batalha, Leiria, Marinha Grande, Ourém, Pombal and Porto de Mós). This solution was specially developed to make the disposal of glass packaging by participating establishments simpler, more convenient and more efficient.

Last week, Valorlis began implementing a new local selective waste collection system, placing 267 1,100-liter containers in locations within the municipalities of Marinha Grande and Leiria. The goal is to facilitate the separation of recyclable waste and its placement in the respective containers, making the process more convenient and accessible for citizens. This project includes the creation of Eco-islands, with the installation of three 1,100-liter containers, intended for the three streams — yellow (plastic and metal), blue (paper/cardboard), and green (glass) — in strategic locations. In the first phase, 267 containers will be placed in the localities of Picassinos and Comeira, in the municipality of Marinha Grande, and Mouratos and Casal do Ralha, in the municipality of Leiria, serving the 3,900 inhabitants of the areas covered. Starting in early 2027, its expansion to other areas of the territory is expected.
